Along with the drop in the water table, which has happened in several parts of the country due to drought or overexploitation of underground or regional aquifers, there are other reasons for reducing well productivity.
The most common of them is the closing of meshes or slots along the well body. If several grids or parts of grids are blocked, the amount of water passing through the well system will be significantly reduced. Calcium carbonate, silt, clay, iron sulfides and microorganisms, iron, and manganese bacteria are all common well blockers. It is also possible that the fall behind the wall closes parts of the Sefera Formation. For example, earthquakes, building explosions, or even time may fill the well. Locally, other materials may be blocking wells, and it’s really important to know, not guess, what’s causing the problem.
Sometimes it’s just the pump. Pumps wear and tear. The contractor will determine and check this during the inspection.
